Perioperative Cognitive Trajectories Study
01. How long will I be in this study?
Participation lasts up to one year and one month.

02. Will I be compensated for participating?
Yes. You will receive $10 for each completed set of questionnaires (up to $40 total). If you decide to continue wearing the Ring (Oura) for longer than one month after your surgery, you will be able to keep the Ring (Oura).
03. Can I complete the study questionnaires on my computer?
No. You will need to complete the study questionnaires in the MyCap app, available for download on your smartphone or tablet/iPad.
04. Should I wear the Ring (Oura) during the day?
The ring is built for all-day comfort, and we ask you to wear it 24/7, particularly at night, for two weeks before your surgery and for at least 30 days afterward.
05. Can I shower with my Ring?
Yes. The Ring (Oura) is water-resistant up to 100 meters.
06. Can I keep my Ring (Oura) after the study?
After the 30 days of monitoring following your surgery, we will ask you to return the Ring using a prepaid shipping label. However, if you choose to keep wearing the ring and extend the monitoring period, you may keep the Ring (Oura).
07. Will I have to travel to MGH or BWH to complete study procedures?
No travel. All procedures related to the study are completed remotely. Your blood sample will be collected during your hospital stay for surgery.
